Wow, was Halloween different this year. After going to town for a little treats – no tricks our grandmother (MaMa) called and said there was someone special at her house for us to come and meet them. What a treat, we met a French couple who are walking (a 14,000 mile journey) to Argentina. They started in Miami in late September and they walk about 20 miles a day, and stop and knock on peoples doors and ask if they can set up their tent in their garden (this is what the French call yards). Sometimes they get turned away. Well, our MaMa thought they were just some patriotic trick or treater’s when she first opened the door, because they were holding American Flags and it was Halloween. It took her a few minutes to understand what they were asking since they had a French accent, but welcomed them to stay. There names are Laetitia and William and what a treat it was to find out about the adventure they were on. We took a video of a short interview we had with them and it will be on the show soon. We were dressed in our costumes, I, Megan was a “Punk Rocker” and Miranda was “Rasberry Girl”.
It was so cool to meet someone from France. Our whole family ended up coming over and we got to hear all about there expedition. It was our aunt’s birthday so they got to join in singing and eating birthday cake. So if you see a couple walking along the road carrying the American Flag give them a smile and a wave. They told us they found American people to be quite friendly. And as Miranda says - ROCK ON! Hey, Click here to read an article about them in the Ledger Newspaper in Lakeland, Florida. Meeting them was SO COOL!
